No Rest for the Weary - or the Busy

I barely unpacked before it was time to pack up and head to the BYU Family History Conference in Provo, Utah. What a great experience! Wonderful folks and fabulous information. And, for a change, I actually sat in on some classes. No matter how much we seem to know, we can always learn more . . . and I did!

Both Gena and I have not been letting grass grow under our feet just because the vehicle has stopped: we are both involved in getting ready for SLIG in January. Gena will be doing a track on social research for genealogists. What an exciting change of pace! Not too many think about the addition of the lifestyles and interests of our ancestors when they consider studying their deceased kin, but this track should give a new perspective on this part of family history. I'll be doing some classes on analyzing family stories, understanding ancestors' involvement in music, and other aspects of the personal lives that breathe life into the people who paved the way for us.

So if you missed catching us on our tour, do consider coming to the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy in January and we will look forward to seeing you there.
